Millakru was born from a profound sense of purpose: the urgent need to recognize and value the farmer’s labor. For decades, agricultural workers have given their lives, strength, and resources from before dawn until the sun fades, only to receive unfair prices dictated by large industrial corporations. We witnessed this social injustice and chose to rewrite the rules. We decided that every single cacao bean must honor the sweat of those who cultivate it.
The Identity: Roots and Memory
We honor our ancestral Kichwa language as a act of cultural resistance, preserving a voice that refuses to fade away. Millakru is a phonetic adaptation paying homage to our birthplace: Milagro, Ecuador. We cherish our roots, belong to this soil, and proudly carry the memory of our people in every creation.
The Discovery: The Flavor of Heritage
For generations, our cacao beans were handed over to the market without us ever knowing their destination or tasting their true potential. One day, we dared to taste the fruit of our own land. The result astonished us and captured our hearts forever: it revealed an aromatic complexity and richness of flavor that only the unique geography of Ecuador can conceive.
